FAQ

So how does picking my price work?

You put in a price and tell us what you want. We'll do the best to match your price and needs to a Utah photographer who can meet it. If your bid is too low, we'll typically give you two responses. One is the best we can do within your budget and the second is the minimum price it would take to get you everything you requested.

Who does your photography?  It's probably somebody without any experience, right?

Our photographers are very experienced and have not only years of photography experience, but at least several dozen actual weddings under their belt. Part of why they can offer these incredible discounts is because these packages are limited to times where they otherwise wouldn't be have booked higher-cost work. Kind of like how a travel website can offer discounts for off-peak travel seasons, these photographers can offer discounts for off-peak times.

What if I make a low-ball bid, do I still get a professional photographer?

We'd rather skimp on what we offer in terms of time or features than quality of work. If you underbid, we'll tell you the best we can offer. We won't refer you to somebody who has limited experience. That's what Facebook is for.

What are some potential restrictions?

Anything is negotiable, right? But sometimes in order to hit your budget there will be some restrictions.

These might be limitations on splitting hours, shorter sessions, limited location selections for engagement or formal photos, or limitations on post-production (Photoshop) work.

Who will shoot my wedding, do I get to pick my photographer?

Short answer: no. Long answer: also no. The bottom line is that part of why we can offer amazing rates like this is by allowing really expensive photographers to fill their unbooked dates with your work. This ensures that they don't dilute their brand. Have you ever bid on one of those 5 star hotels in Vegas through a travel site and they don't tell you which one until you accept the bid? Same concept.

Doesn't this undercut the wedding photography market or cannibalize the photographers' existing business?

No. Potential purchasers of these simple packages frequently went without professional photography at all and used a friend. This allows people on a more limited budget to enjoy high-quality professional photos at an amazing price. If you're looking for a more fixed pricing structure we would be delighted to refer you to any number of our partner photographers.

Okay, so how do I book?

First, you need to put in your price. Then you need to get a response to your bid. If your bid is accepted or you like the counteroffer, let us know. We'll send you a link to pay your deposit. Weddings $500 and under are due at the time of booking. Weddings over $500 require a $500 deposit at booking and the remainder of the balance two weeks before the wedding.

Sales tax. Do I have to pay it?

Yep. It's 6.85%. It'll be tacked on top of your bid. So if you bid $1000, you'll have to pay $1068.50. Don't blame us, blame the Utah State Tax Commission who has decreed that photography is subject to sales tax.

Can I shoot for Beehive?

Odds are you probably can't, but take a look at our requirements and if you have the experience and equipment, we'll get in touch.
